Migration Planning

The planning of systems is done by first constructing an overview specification, which spans all three architectural levels. This specification is then interpreted to formulate an idea of how complex the system is, what its scope and content is and an idea of what its context with relation to other systems is. From this information we can then construct a plan.

We need five issues covered to enable us to construct the plan from:

  1. Business Prioritisation.

  2. Architectural Prioritisation.

  3. Accommodate Business Priority into Architectural Priority.

  4. Gap analysis at three architectural levels.

  5. Resource gap and the ‘Fix It’ priority.
